About Me

I                                                           I began my career in mental health in 2010 at a residential crisis center in San                                                              Diego and spent five frenzied years learning by doing and absorbing                                                                            everything that I could. After a brief period, I realized that I would need to be                                                              a licensed clinician to make the kind of impact I hoped to in this field so I                                                                      headed back to graduate school to obtain my Master's in Psychology.

The next part of my journey began at the San Diego Rescue Mission where I                                                                served a high-risk population as therapist, case worker, and social worker                                                                      my understanding of the recovery process. At the Mission I was able to gain a                                                              wide range of experience from working with older disabled adults in the Recuperative Care Unit to seeing children and families in the Women’s and Children Center for counseling. While continuing my work at the Mission, I also began building my proficiency in private practice part-time.  It is in these settings that my passion for working with clients on a more one on one long term basis came to fruition.

Before delving in to private practice full-time in 2020, I used my clinical, management, and professional skills serving a diverse group of clients and assisting in getting a new residential crisis center up and running. I was instrumental working in tandem with the director and president to develop and implement all treatment programing with the goal of providing a supportive and safe environment for recovery from both mental health and substance abuse issues.

Currently, I work from my home doing virtual telehealth therapy. I truly believe that telehealth is the future of behavioral health treatment and am passionate about serving populations that would otherwise not have access to therapy.

Personally, I am the mom to a teenage daughter and two dogs. I enjoy travelling, hiking, college football, animals of all kinds, movies, and music. My family is my heart.
